ABOUT GYC

Founded in 2009 by Cornell University students, Global Youth Concept (GYC) is a registered international NGO in Pampanga, Philippines, which has developed and plans to implement public interest programs to increase the standard of living for the youth of these regions via educational support, community outreach, and health initiatives. GYC seeks to establish a feeding program, create a sustainable garden for the community and provide educational opportunities through scholarships in Lubao, Pampanga.

Vision, Mission and Objectives of GYC

As part of our commitment to public service, the GYC team has implemented various local feeding programs, which have already improved the health conditions of more than two hundred underweight children this past summer. Sufficient data has been collected to ensure that GYC has and will continue to provide sustainable programs that locals deem necessary to enrich the lives of residents.

In addition, the GYC team has distributed scholarship posters to educate the local residents about the scholarship opportunities that are available for San Francisco elementary students. The organization is currently providing ten high school scholarships to low-income, rural students in the Philippines. The GYC team believes that by providing financial support to the community members, students will be able to pursue their hope of getting an education, and the opportunity to create a better life for themselves, and generations to come.

We also believe a key component to well-educated minds are healthy bodies. Child malnourishment is a significant hurdle that must be addressed, for the consequences of early child malnourishment extend to infirmity and poor cognitive development, limiting these children's possibilities for advancement.
